Mike Lowell set the tone for this one with a second inning 2 run homer as the suddenly powerful Boston Red Sox made quick work of the team from Philly. Matt Clement pitched 6 2/3 innings, and scored the winning run on Papi's 5th inning home run, a monster blast into the second deck that was gone before the sound of the bat striking the ball reached the fans in the bleachers. Jonathon Papelbon recorded his 15th save as National League fans got their first glimpse at the best closer in baseball. My oh my, that sounds so sweet. And coupled with the Met's 9th inning victory over the hapless and injured Yankees, the Red Sox have a 1 1/2 game lead in the AL East, 2 in the lost column.
