It's Getting Better All The Time. (It Can't Get No Worse.)
Sox thoughts, right now on Thursday mid-morning. Things can only get better. It's just that we have to make sure they don't get worse, first. I'm reminded of a song, co-written by 2 British kids, well known, that went like this. "I have to believe it's getting better. It's getting better all the time. (It can't get no worse). Those 2 twenty five and twenty six year olds were Paul McCartney and John Lennon, with John's line in parenthesis. The album was Sgt. Pepper's, and in 1967 the two co-writers were at odds about many things in real life. And the rift between them would get worse, bad enough to rip apart the best band that ever was well before it's time. That's what makes this different. All of us, every one of us that love the Red Sox, have no mixed feelings. We want it better, and we want that NOW. An almost Doors-like fervant prayer. And that Doors song, called When the Music's Over, went like this....."We want the world, and we want it now. NOW!!!" Mid-morning thoughts. After a devastating 4 game stretch. I never know what to expect. Thanks for your readership.

good news is we can watch the Patriots play on Friday night in Atlanta. It's no help to the Red Sox, but it'll be FOOTBALL nontheless!!
Hike! But Teddy will miss the exhibition games. And maybe that's a good thing. But my heart is so tied to the Sox. And until the end of the post- season, or wherever and whenever the end will come, the Pats come second. But don't get me wrong Amy...I will be watching. And cheering. For both teams. Great to hear from you!
Jonathon, I left the best solution over at your blog. And her name is.....CYN.
wow jonathan you're pretty lucky!! wish i could go to a sox-yanks game.
peter, nice post. you're right about it not getting any worse. i can't imagine what the kansas city fans had to go through last year when they lost 19 in a row. 4 in a row and i'm freaking out.
pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease win tonight boys!

It's "rift." You really think the Beatles broke up "well before it's time"?
I am 14!

Peter, several points to make...and yes, please blame the Victory HopDevil Ale(and the Kirin, and the calvados) if this makes no sense, but:
A. I hate the Beatles
B. I love your blog.
C. BSM is right. We suck.
D. I might have seen the band in question on Jere's site.
E. I think Kaylee has a crush on you.
F. The line to jump off the Tobin Bridge is, I'll bet, longer than the line to fly out of Logan.
G. I wished I lived where I could watch a meaningless Pats preseason game.
H. We still need a name for our baby boy yet to be born. And CoCo Fanning just doesn't have the OBP to get it done with My Wife.
Have a great day...like I said...5 back by the time the Devils get to Fenway...
Rift is right. That one didn't catch my eye. Wecome back Kaylee. Thank you Matty. And Tim, yes, Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starkey had much more music in them. Thanks you all for your comments.
Sorry for the typos...it's early!!
Matty: you hate the Beatles? For shame...."John" is a nice name, and I've heard the name "Quinn" is very popular these days for newborns....a combo of the two would be nice.
Stick with our boys. There's a lot of turbulance right now, but it's not a done deal. Yet.
Yeah yeah yeah....yeah yeah yeah yeah!!!! 1963...SHE LOVES YOU, the 2nd number one single, after I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND set this nation on fire. In the 60's, if just for a minute. Wonder what that was like?
