A Monday Quickie! Trot And World Series Ratings.

Among the ever growing list of players to declare free agency is our very own Trot Nixon. I still hold out hope he will be at home in "his" right field, at our very own Fenway Park.
And this, from today's Globe, about the never more dismal World Series ratings....

"The Cardinals' five-game victory over the Detroit Tigers averaged a record-low 10.1 television rating and 17 share, Fox said Sunday. This year's rating dropped 9 percent from the previous bottom, an 11.1 for a four-game sweep by the Chicago White Sox over the Houston Astros last year."

Peter here... I'll be back later in the day. For now, welcome to Monday, everybody. I hope your weekend was great. It was stormy with a wind-swept driving rain here in Connecticut. Plenty to do, though.

LOL ... I am keeping the faith - that Trot will be with the Red Sox organization for the 2007 season ...

eh ... and I still hate the Cardinals.

Trot is going to be moving on to greener pastures. That's my prediction anyway. Not that I don't like him...but I think it's time.

Zach,,if you look back to the ratings for 2004.......bingo..the people LOVE THE RED SOX!~!!!
And Reb, I hope not....oh, Zach, when was the last time any Yankee ratings meant any meaningful anything??? At least in the WS.... So long ago...but hey, thanks for the comment. In my mind, more people love TO HATE the Yankees...but I love it that you are a constant reader...you too Rebecca! Be well.
Zach and Reb.....I am an everyday reader of you both. I get around. That was a 1965 Beach boys single... And again, don't be strangers!! Thanks

Keep Trot!

Ratings were probably low because the teams that played aren't huge names. You guys are right -- put the Sox or Yanks in there and see the ratings rise..

"Keep Trot!"

Boy am I glad Laura isn't the GM of the Boston Red Sox! Yippee!!

If you look at the exact numbers, the 2001 and 2004 World Series are almost exactly the same. The Yanks and Sox make baseball fun, if they aren't in the series then it's just another baseball game. :)

Of course the BoSox and Yankess's make the series fun ... LOL !

#1 - you have the best LOOKING team = BoSox

#2 - you have one of the most controversial teams = MFY's

#3 - I don't really have one ... or else I forgot where I was going with it ...

It's been a long day!
