Randy Johnson Being Shopped By The Yankees

I hope you all had a great holiday on this Monday......err, Tuesday morning. Seems like Monday, doesn't it? And news of the possible trade of RJ is big....this from the NY Post......

"BIG DEAL?: An agent for Randy Johnson has confirmed a Post report that the Yankees have talked trade with Arizona concerning the star left-hander.

December 26, 2006 -- Randy Johnson could be leaving the Yankees after just two seasons.
The Yankees have started trade talks with several teams, including the Diamondbacks, although it is too early to tell whether the discussions will lead to a deal.
Talks were confirmed yesterday by a baseball official who had knowledge of them and spoke on condition of anonymity because they are in the preliminary stage."

Peter here. RJ, who was 34-19 in his two checkered years with the Yankees and 0-1 with an ERA near seven (!) in the post season, would be the third lefty in the Yank's rotation, after Pettitte and Igawa, making him dispensible. I for one hope the Yankees are not able to rid themselves of the lanky lefty. Why? Because I think at best he would be a .500 pitcher this year. But any such thoughts are pure conjecture.
Enjoy your Monday-like Tuesday, everyone. I'll be back if there is any baseball news ANYWHERE. A tall order!

I'd love to see them keep him, so we can bat .400 against him this year. He's definitely on the way out.

I want "The Big Eunach" to stay, so he can be smacked around, for Old Times' Sake.

Yes, its always funny to see him get angrier and angrier the more he implodes on the mound--which, of course, only makes it worse....

What a wonderful viscious cycle!

First - if the Yanks dished him back to the D-Backs they would pick up a portion of the $16 mil. in exchange for another pithcing prospect or the catcher we let go to get him in the first place.

Second - RJ is a clubhouse downer and would be glad to see him go.

Third - They may be looking to ship him because they have the inside track on getting Zito who is still on the market

Fourth - Where else can you win 17 games for a team and get ran out of town. I love the high standards and its exactly why they're going to get number 27 in 07!!!

I seriously doubt the diamondbacks are gunna make an agreement with them because josh brynes will not give up any top tier prospects and that is what the yankees want.

plus Middle relief eho is the catcher you let go?Because I can guarantee that Brynes is not giving up MIGUEL MONTERO

and the only reason I know that is because they let Johnny Estrada go to give MIGUEL MONTERO a chance to be in the majors in '07.
