Winging West

John Henry's jet has been busy this week. In it were Theo Epstein and Larry Lucchino. Their destination? California. Their mission? To deal directly with DMatt as well as Boras(s), and make a second, higher offer even though Boras has never even made a counter offer. The Sox, and so many of us, think that Boras is stalling until Thurdsay midnight before DMat has to return to Japan. But the pitcher has already said goodbye to his countless fans and teamates, and he does not want to go back. I don't know who Boras is working for, or what his methods mean. But Theo and Larry hope to be winging back east to Boston with their new prized pitcher seated alongside them. On Wednesday. That's tomorrow. So stay close for the latest news. Because whatever is going to happen is going to happen within 36 hours or so. Count on it.
