Theo Stands Firm...Helton Trade DEAD
Unable to agree on financial and player considerations, talks between the Red Sox and the Rockies have ended. Caput. Finito. Theo stood firm in the face of the Rockies' demands for Delcarmen and Hansen. And that's great. We have another year to watch the brilliance of Mike Lowell at the hot corner. Mr. Doubles is comin' back!
I'll be back a bit later on this 6 degree F. Tuesday morning.

that is great i didnt want to see hansen,delcarmen,or mikey go,I just think that they will be way to valuable in a year or two to let go now,especially craig Hansen.Mikey I know will be a free agent next year.But,I still love him and the way he plays.=]
And we get to enjoy him ALL year!! I hope Hansen comes of age this year. You're up early!!!

thank God. but i won't rest easy until i stop hearing Lowell's name come up in every possible trade discussion -- like the possibility of trading him to SD for Linebrink. don't they know it's not fair to do this to me so soon after i had to bear the sight of Peyton Manning winning the Championship game... =/
**dawn**....I feel the same way, and it looks like our Mikey will be vacuuming the Fenway hot corner...and I am so looking forward to'07....but, but, with a closer!!!!! Is it time for Hansen to come of age??? Boy, would that be perfect timing! But I don't expect any miracles.....the club had better sign Schill for '08, by spring training!

The Rockies GM said "We're not just going to give up Helton for nothing."
I hope that inspires Mike to prove he's not "nothing". I liked his play last year and hope his impending free agency will also inspire a stellar year in '07.

Very glad this didn't happen. I love to see local guys like Manny DelCarmen play for the hometown team.
