Through Seven, We're In Daisuke Heaven

The fourth Sox rookie pitcher to record ten plus strikeouts...ever..and after seven, it's 2-1 good guys. Maybe we're approaching Paps' time? The eighth inning stands between us and lights out Paps. Now, that nagging question. Whoever comes in to pitch the eighth.........will he, can he, get us to the ninth with this one run lead?
Back to the game...............lead off double from our Papi.....Manny???? Help! Manny gets Papi to third....OK Mikey. COCO crisps the Royals, making it 4-1. There's still the 8th and 9th for the Royals' lumber.. I'm afraid of the 8th.......Boston and KC...as it happens, right here.
Going into the bottom of the dreaded 8th....4-1 Sox. THIS is where I get scared. And it's JC Romero.
One down....two down....JC is cruising. Base hit with two out. Man on first with two down. Bottom of the 8th. Still 4-1 Sox. AND AFTER 8....4-1 good guys! In the bottom of the 9th, trying for his first save, will be Jonathon Papelbon. That is, unless the Red Sox keep scoring. As James Brown said....."I feel good." As I would say...well, that's hard to improve on. I'll take this up again when Paps strolls to the mound looking for save number one. Number one of many. Live, as it happens. Next paragraph, please.
OK...into the ninth with the score still 4-1. Paps walks slowly and begins his warm ups. Only total disaster will prevent the Sox from going to 2-1 in this young season. First up......as Paps tries for save number one, will be Emile Brown. THIS is where we love to see this guy on the mound. Strike one....1-1...blew it by him for strike two....foul keeps the count 1-2....ball 2...called strike three on a slider...one out. Paps rules. Alex Gorgon is in the batter's box for strike one. Splitter for strike two. Grounder to Youk...2 OUTS, in the ninth, where it counts the most, as the Sox try for two in a row, something they could not do at all in KC last year. Sheely down in the count 0-2 as Daisuke waves from the dugout. The pitch...STRIKE THREE! Paps saves the first MAJOR LEAGUE victory for Daisuke. Nice! And what a season we shall see from Daisuke Matsuzka. And Jonathon Papelbon. And as a blinding snow falls here in north central Connecticut, I am proud to say this. SOX WIN!!!
We now return you to your local stations. (That was fun).

Matsuzaka was outstanding even though he got into some trouble.

Nice to see Papelboner come out throwing gas.

Matsuzaka 1-0

So much fun with a 4-1 lead comin' in and Paps comin' out! I loved it! And Daisuke can pitch---nothing straight, either. Now if tubby Curt can get it together, that's a nice 1-2-3 punch.

Thanks Jess...it was so much fun to watch, except for the fact that for most of the game we only had two runs. And Katiee, I feel the same exact way. Next Daisuke start? Wednesday, at home. At the Fens. What a day that will be.
