Paps Is Human After All!

This one was signed, sealed and delivered. It was 3-0 after 1 inning, 4-0 after 3 innings and 4-2 after 7 tremendous Curt Schilling innings. Bravo Curt! Way to go! And in the 8th, the steady lefty, Hideki "the Darkman" Okajima put 'em down 1-2-3. And according to the bullpen plan when the Red Sox are ahead in the 8th and the 9th, the Darkman was followed by Jonathon Papelbon, who promptly gave up a 2-run bomb to Travis Buck. 4-4, the crowd mute, stunned, silently shocked. The Sox didn't score in the bottom half of the inning, and Brandon Donnelly came on for the 10th. No dice. Double-double, and what was to be the winning run crossed the plate. The heart of the Sox order came up empty against Huston Street, and it was over. Quickly, too suddenly.
Josh Beckett goes today against the A's Chad Gaudin. The page has been turned, and the Sox are going for the split. Paps has been so automatic....it makes losses like this so much tougher. We'll get 'em today.
