Gagne Is A Red Sox....DONE DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A BULLPEN!

Eric GAGNE is a Boston Red Sox bullpen pitcher! And I'm smiling...and I will continue to smile. I hope you are, too! Try it, you'll like it!

From the AP.....just now.....

"With Eric Gagne finally pitching like his old self following two elbow operations and back surgery, the Boston Red Sox agreed Tuesday to acquire the reliever from the Texas Rangers.....
Gagne, who has a limited no-trade clause, was asked to give his consent to the trade Tuesday afternoon, a person familiar with the talks said, speaking on condition of anonymity because an announcement had not yet been made.
Unidentified major league sources told NESN that Gagne agreed to waive his no-trade clause and agreed to serve as the team's set-up man.
Once one of baseball's premier closers, Gagne was to join a Boston bullpen that already has two All-Star relievers: closer Jonathan Papelbon and setup man Hideki Okajima."

Sweeter than sugar! And we'll all remember this day, July 31st, 2007.

Another plus is that we don't have to face Gagne when we go to NY next month; we'll let the skankees see how to handle him.

Looks like the 2 outfielders and Kason will go rolling along ... so long, Gabby. Good luck & thanks for your help this year.

I like Gabbard, and hope that this doesn't come back to bite the sox in the future. If they take it all this year, it will be worth it, though.

Thanks bfw--I wish Gabbie good luck. SF, I so agree. And Novy, it's nice to know that you stop by for the latest (most of the time) news, and I will miss him too. Gags (oops, that nic might not work!) will be a great addition to the club and an important part of the two (or three, or four) man bridge to Paps, and when Jonathon needs a night off, who better to close? Okie, Gagne, (Delcarmen and sometimes Timlin) and Papelbon. Sweeter than chocolate.
Thanks for your great comments! Now let's start the bats going. That's the ONLY thing that worries me. All else is in place.......yes, it is! And that makes me so so happy.

what is the sawx record when leading after 6 innings? how about after 7? i think they needed a starter, not a shutdown reliever. but who knows.

BP, I'm sorry I didn't see your comment until this Thursday morning, and thanks for your reading. You're NOT Sox fan, are you? They are 62-1 when leading after 8...the rotation, with Schill back on Sunday, rivals the best in the big leagues---the bullpen already is.
What was your question again? Peter
