Happy Birthday John Lennon...1940-1980
You left us too soon. You would have turned 68 years old this morning. Wow, that's hard to believe! But your voice would still be ringing loud and clear, and I wish that we could all hear your feelings about the world today, much as it was when you were murdered, murdered by a cowardly jerk who shot you five times in the back at near point blank range... you never had a chance. You left us too early. I miss you.
"And we all shine on
Like the moon and the stars and the sun
Yes, we all shine on, on and on and on and on"
John, you're still shining. You know what? You always will. I miss you.

I couldn't resist commenting on John on his birthday and I agree with your sentiments. What a great and wonderful talent he had and developed. His drive and passion to become one of the world's top musical performers was amazing. I too join the millions of others that miss him.
Trivia for today - John said his favorite singer was Roy Orbison.
amen...his bday 2 days before mine...im just alot younger.. but not to young to appericate a great performer/singer.
The Beatles toured with Roy and his band in pre-1963 days. Thanks, BFW. I too miss him.
Thanks Shea...nicely said!
During 1963, too, for a short time...they wrote SHE LOVES YOU (John and Paul) while on the tour van going to one of those shows...in about 20 minutes!
SHE LOVES YOU was the song my soon-to-be girlfriend had me play on the jukebox to let me know how she felt. I replied with I SAW HER STANDING THERE.
True love blossomed (with the Beatles playing a significant role) for a few months until her father convinced her that she was wasting her time with a gentile. Crap!
BFW, how great is that! I meant the choice of songs, not the end result. For my best friend's wedding, I picked out the wedding song because he really didn't know. The band played two, linked together...IF I FELL into AND I LOVE HER. It was a beautiful moment that had me tearing up. OK, I was crying! That's just me. GO SOX. GO JOSH.
Great choices of songs!
Thanks!
John Lennon was a homophobe...

Hey playwriter, or is it Paperback Writer? All I know is I thought I ran out of IDIOTS until I read your comment. Thank you for sustaining my belief that there's always a fool out there. And for your info, the song was not recorded with the best fidelity...you couldn't be farther from the truth. The only reason I'm not deleting your comment is because I wanted to make sure everyone knew what an idiot you are.
Playwriter, I'M STILL LAUGHING.
