Colorado Oupitches The Red Sox...2-1 Rockies

The Colorado Rockies pitcher Jhoulys Chacin outpitched Boston's Jon Lester and his team won by a score of 2-1. Those two runs scored on Hideki Okajima but a bad hop to shortstop Marco Scutarro that bounded off the turf and went high over Scoots glove sealed the deal. The winning run scored. It was a tough luck night for the young lefty. Here he is...

"I gave up six singles, and probably one of them was hit hard. It was just their night. That’s basically it.”

Yep, it was a tough luck night for the Sox but remember this: Chacin pitched a tremendous game although at times he was a little wild. Red Sox skipper Terry Francona summed it all up, briefly...

“We had a couple opportunities,’’ Francona said. “Looked like their guy, when he was struggling with his command, we just couldn’t make him pay for it. Made some pitches when he needed to, and kept us off the scoreboard.’’

Tonight, Boston will face the Rockies' best pitcher, a guy who is compiling what might be the best hurling season in the history of MLB. He's 13-1 with an ERA UNDER 1.20. Amazing stuff, amazing numbers. WOW! Let's see what he's got tonight.

Josh Beckett is progressing nicely. He threw 65 pitches, all fastballs, yesterday and will again be out there with all his pitches on Thursday. See ya soon, Josh. As for Jacoby Ellsbury (remember him?), he is right now being further evaluated. To say he'll be back by the All Star Break is no sure thing, I'm sorry to say.

That's it for this Hump Day Wednesday. Enjoy everything and as always, BE WELL.
