Beckett & Buchholz...WE NEED YOU!
For the second straight Fenway Park game, the Texas Rangers scored seven or more runs on their way to an 8-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox in an error-filled and emotionless game. Felix Dubront pitched 4 2/3 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on seven hits, walking two and whiffing (with his cutter) five. He discombobulated in the fifth inning, however, with the help of reliever Fernando Cabrera, who departed the club after his uninspiring outing. Bye-bye Felix. They combined to give up five runs in that frame with a critical error by Dubront, throwing the ball into centerfield, fueling the Rangers' fire. Quite simply, the Red Sox need Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz back NOW. Expect Wakefield to take a seat in the bullpen and Dubront to head for the bullpen (maybe). It must be done because Boston is now 6 1/2 games behind the NY Yankees. Things look bleak at the moment. I don't like bleak at all. Not one bit.
At 7:10pm EDT tonight in Boston, Lackey and Lee will face off in game three. Boston needs two quick wins before they emabark on a ten game west coast road trip with Oakland, LA and Seattle as the usual suspects. Have a great weekend. It seems that the only staggering aspect about the recent and upcoming weather here in north central Connecticut is the jungle-like humidity. Thank goodness for air conditioning. As always, BE WELL. Stay cool. See ya soon.
