Cliff Lee Completely Dominant...Rangers Thump & Bump Rays And Advance To The ALCS To Play NY...My Goodness!
Cliff Lee pitched his Texas Rangers to continuing glory with a complete game 5-1 victory over the now-dead and buried Tampa Bay Rays. Lee was dominating but since he threw 120 pitches in his complete game effort, he won't pitch again until his Rangers meet the Yankees for game three on Monday. He put on a pitching clinic. Here's the no-hitter master, Nolan Ryan (thanks BFW)...
"Cliff Lee is as confident as any pitcher I've ever seen and the thing that makes you marvel is, he doesn't have a put-away pitch. He doesn't have a devastating slider, or velocity that blows people away, or a sinker that eats hitters up. But he's so confident in his ability to throw the ball where he wants it, and he pitches to both sides of the plate. It's unbelievable. This was as outstanding a performance in a pressure situation as I've ever seen.''
He was THAT good. So it'll be San Francisco At Philadelphia in game one of the NLCS on Saturday and the Yankees at Texas Friday night. Here is the complete schedule for both series...

Not to be dumping on you, but as fantastic as the Ryan Express was, I never saw him pitch as a southpaw.
And Lee has been great in the playoffs so far - let's hope he keeps it up. 21 K's & zero BB.
Go Rangers! All the way to the WS!
WOW. I always thought he was. My bad.
You're right. I was thinking of Sandy Koufax. Gee. Thanks.
