Yanks Win Game 5...SF In Walk Off Victory

The NY Yankees bumped off the Texas Rangers 7-2 and both teams are going back west for a crucial game six tomorrow. CC Sabathia earned the win with six innings of work. He allowed eleven hits but only two runs while striking out seven. Kerry Wood took over in the seventh and Mo Rivera pitched a one hit ninth. Here's the NY manager, Joe Girardi, before the game talking about his team's perilous situation...

"Before we lost the three games in a row, we won four in a row. Just look at tomorrow. Win a game tomorrow."

The two clubs resume play on Friday with Texas still holding a game seven (if needed) killer weapon. That would be Cliff Lee. The Rangers sure would like to wrap it up in six and have a fresh Lee for game one of the World Series. Bring it on! Tomorrow.

On the National League side, the San Francisco Giants beat the Philadelphia Philles with a dramatic 6-5 ninth inning victory. They have a huge three games to one lead in the best of seven series. Game five comes up tonight. Here's the Giant's Aubrey Huff, who scored the final Giants run...

"It seems like all the baseball talk is all East Coast," said Aubrey Huff, who slid home with the final run. "Everybody watching tonight saw exactly how we've played all year."

Philadelphia, the pre-post season favorite, has done little right. Last night it was ALL west coast with excitement down to the last at bat. My goodness! I hope you caught the final few innings.
