Derek Jeter & His Agent Are Delirious!

I had to post this blurb from the Boston Globe, my favorite newspaper. This is recent, very recent...

"Derek Jeter started contract negotiations with the Yankees by asking for a six-year, $150 million deal, the New York Daily News reported yesterday. Jeter, who has won five World Series titles in 16 years with the Yankees, is standing firm on $25 million per year, according to the newspaper, citing an unidentified person familiar with the negotiations. The Yankees originally offered the 11-time All-Star a three-year, $45 million deal that would make Jeter, 36, the game’s highest-paid shortstop."

Did you laugh as I did? Twenty five million per season?? I think the Boston Red Sox should make him an offer higher than the pin-stripers offer (by one dollar) but no higher. New York tensions will mount. Doom will be on the horizon for the Yankee front office. He-he. But we don't want it to backfire and end up with Jeter. Hey, he can still swing the bat but he is the face of the New York Yankees. He's a competent shortstop but his last three Gold Gloves were absolutely farcical. It was like George was voting from the grave. And so, my little story will end like this. Jeter will end up with the Yankees for three years at $15 million per year. Or he'll be playing for the Boston Red Sox for $15 million and one dollar per year. I'll even kick in the buck.

That was my Tuesday light-hearted post to you. I hope your day will be a great one and please click on this post's title for more from the NY rags. As always, BE WELL. And let's be careful out there.
