Boston Red Sox Brew Milwaukee Right Out Of Town 12-3..Take 2 Of 3

Tim Wakefield picked a beautiful Sunday afternoon to pitch his finest start of the season. He went eight full innings and gave up only three runs on three hits while striking out six. His knuckie was all over the strike zone, bopping, weaving and dancing while being called strikes. He was lethal. Jarrod Saltalamacchia echoed what I just said. Here he is...

“He was excellent. It was probably the best stuff I’ve seen from him all year. Even in the bullpen, I was having trouble because the ball was moving everywhere, but he was throwing it for strikes, too.’’

And here's the Boston skipper, Terry "Tito" Francona, during his post game press conference...

“You’re fortunate when you’re on a staff and have a guy like that. This season he knew what his role was, but in all honesty you don’t know where the starts are going to be. But he prepared real well and he’s really helping us out.’’

A great job by Wakes would have meant nothing at all had the Boston bats not done their job but they did just that. Multiple hit games were had by Dustin Pedroia (3 hits, 3 RBIs), Jacoby Ellsbury (2 hits, 2 RBIs) and the irrepressible Adrian Gonzalez (2 hits, 1 RBI). He is a perpetual motion hitter. He never stops! And so the Boston Red Sox Rolling Thunder Revue resumes today as they cordially invite the San Diego Padres into the friendly confines of the always beautiful Fenway Park. Here are the three game pitching match-ups...

Mon. 20 SD 7:10 PM ET** Ch4/NESN** A. Miller (0-0) vs. W. LeBlanc (0-2)
Tue. 21 SD 7:10 PM ET** Ch4/NESN** J. Beckett (6-2) vs. M. Latos (4-8)
Wed. 22 SD 1:35 PM ET** Ch4/NESN** J. Lackey (5-5) vs. C. Richard (2-9)

Seeing a good outing from Miller would be nice, nice indeed. I have never seen him pitch. And that's a wrap for this, the newest Monday ever. Huh? Oh, never mind. My brain wandered if only for an instant. I'll have a quick wrap of tonight's game first thing in the morning. Tomorrow's going to be a busy day, what with the funeral and all, but I always make time for you. Click on this post's title for more about the game and some terrific video. As always, BE WELL.

Just got back in town & read about your Mom. I'm so sorry, Pete. I know how painful it can be.
