Down In Tampa, The Red Sox Are Ready

The Boston Red Sox, winners of nine straight games, start a three game series with the Tampa Bay Rays. It'll be Wakefield and Shields. Since yesterday was an off day, that's about all I have for you. Have a great Tuesday.

I'm back and I wanted to mention something I had forgotten. The Yankees lost last night 1-0 to the Cleveland Indians. That's a one game "fluffier" first place lead for Boston and their fans, all of us, to enjoy. The Tampa Bay series should be an enjoyable one for the hottest (by far) team in Major League Baseball. GO SOX. Just in case you haven't seen the AL East standings as of today, here you go...

Team***W L Pct GB Home Road East Central West Last 10 Streak
Boston 39 26 .600 - 19 - 13 20 - 13 16 - 8 10 - 9 11 - 8 9 - 1 W 9
NY Yankees 36 28 .563 2.5 20 - 17 16 - 11 13 - 12 11 - 10 10 - 5 5 - 5 L 1
Tampa Bay 35 31 .530 4.5 14 - 16 21 - 15 14 - 10 14 - 10 6 - 9 6 - 4 L 1

Looks good to me!

The Scutaro throw to first. Don said "Wake slow to get over there..." and I'm like, No he wasn't... Then on the replays, we see Wake almost at the bag, and Scutaro's throw WAY behind him (just throw it to the bag, son!), and D & J are still like, "Scutaro looked up and was surprised Wake wasn't there yet."

I saw the whole play as "Scutaro made a really bad throw." It woulda been bang-bang on a perfect throw, but still.
